David Landis Review: Text

David is a freelance writer for the San Francisco Bay Times, contributing to the column named 'The Gay Gourmet' which focuses on food, drinks, chefs, and recipes. His prolific career includes founding his PR firm Landis Communications Inc. and working in Emmy and Peabody award-winning television stations. Now retired from PR, he lives with his husband Sean and their two dogs from the pound, Alphonse and Gaston. His favorite cocktail is the Negroni.

His article "Palette: Where Culinary Creations Collide with Design and Art" was published in April of 2022, right as restaurants were gradually opening their outdoor dining options following the Covid-19 restrictions. He reviewed the food and dining options as any professional "foodie" would. However, the centerpiece of this review was focused on his observations of the designed space and his conversations with Peter, the chef and the proprietor of Palette.

We had an amazing conversation about the dining scene and community in the Bay Area, the art of storytelling, and the concept of merging fine art with fine dining.
